Mangaluru: Unidentified miscreant attacked a person by hitting with a heavy stone on his head in the wee hours in Mannagudda on Wednesday, March 25.

Nagaraj Prabhu (40), a resident of Katipalla was seriously injured in a failed attempt to murder. He was sleeping in front of a service centre at Mannagudda when the attackers hit him with a heavy stone on his head.

The seriously injured victim Nagaraj was taken to Wenlock hospital. Hospital sources said his condition is to be critical.

Sources said, He is facing several theft cases in Surathkal police station. He was living on the streets as his family had rejected him and he recently came out of the jail where he was lodged for theft cases.

A case has been lodged in Barke police station.
