Mangaluru: Muslim community of Dakshina Kannada district celebrated Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi with joy and religious fevour on Friday.

Mass prayers are being held at various mosques in Mangaluru. A large number of Muslims had gathered at the Idgah mosque at Light House Hill for the Eid Namaz. People were also seen exchanging Eid greetings and best wishes. Eid Milad processions are also taken out by various mosques.

Most of the mosques and dargha’s were decorated with flags and buntings to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed.

Milad rallies were taken out in the city by the students of Madarasa. ‘Duff’ performance was the highlight of the rallies in many places.

To spread the message of Prophet Mohammed some Muslim organisations held programmes also. All though it a peaceful and joyful Eid-Milad was observed by the city people.
