Mangalore : Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, Qazi of Dakshina Kannada district said that the Muslim community indulging themselves in communal disturbances and creating problems to people of other religions are against Islamic principles.
Delivering the benedictory speech at Umara-Ulema convention held as part of the 81st Rateeb programme held in the premises of Mohiuddin Jumma Masjid in Ullal on April 13, Sunday, he said that during Malik Deenar visit to Kerala for propagating Islam, the Hindus residing in the locvality has extended facility for building mosque and other basic facilities and due to this Islam grew wider in the country.
Dakshina Kannada-Udupi Central Muslim Committee vice-president Ibrahim Kodijal urged the two factions of Sunnis to preserve unity by avoiding criticisms and comments against each other.
District Wakf Board president S M Rasheed was felicitated on the occasion.
Dakshina Kannada-Udupi Central Muslim Committee president K S Muhammed Masood and former president of Sayyed Madani Dargah Committee U K Monu, also spoke on the occasion.
Mosque Khateeb Yousuf Misbah, former city mayor K Ashraf, advocate K P A Shukoor, Ullal Central Committee president U K Khader, Mangalore Central Jumma Masjid trustee Muhammed Hanif and other leaders were present.
