Mangalore: The All India Beary Parishat of Mangalore organised a felicitation programme on Thursday afternoon at the Town Hall for elected Muslim representatives of people. Former minister B.A Mohideen inaugurated the congratulatory activity, under president ship of Abdul Majeed Suralpady (President AIB Parishat). B.M Mumtaz Ali welcomed the gathering.
In his address after the inauguration of the joyous meeting, Janab B.A Mohideen stated that people had provided a suitable opportunity in public life to the various elected representatives to serve the community at large. He asked the Muslim representatives to strengthen the leadership among Muslims utilizing the golden opportunity in the right spirit. He told them that their administration had to be transparent and above board.
It must be noted that we have to involve in politics to remove corruption and malpractices from public life. It is true that the number of Muslim representatives is shrinking these days, but we cannot allow corrupt and senseless persons to rule us, Mohideen advised. We have to protect those humble people who are exploited in public by all means. We must develop a secular attitude in national matters, he added. The congratulatory address was delivered by Abdul Aziz Baikampady.
A CD containing DK Dt. Muslim representatives of the people was released on the occasion, by Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi. U.K Monu Kanachur was present.
B.A Mohammed Haneef spoke about Muslim political representation- an outlook. Ibrahim Haji Kodijal from Udupi Muslim Central Committee, B.M Faruk of Bangalore Beary Welfare Association and MB Abdul Rahamn felicitated legislators, DK ZP members, GP, City and Taluk Panchayat members as well as MCC members from the Muslim brotherhood. Mohd. Kunjathbailu, Gen Secy, (AIBP) thanked the gathering.
