Mangalore : Muslim brethren are celebrating Eid-al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice also known as Bakrid.The feast falls on the tenth day of the twelfth month Dhu a-Hijjah which occurs soon after the Hajj pilgrimage.
On this day, goats are traditionally sacrificed as an offering to remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim. Muslims also visited mosques to offer special namaz to mark the day. People were also seen exchanging Eid greetings.
