Mangaluru: District Religious Academy President Kumar said that some of the Muzarai temples are not following marriage norms properly.
Speaking in a meeting at DC Office on Tuesday with District’s A and B category temples administrator’s he said that some temples are conducting marriages without confirming age and address of the couples, just for Rs 1000.
“Rent of the shops built in the premises of the Muzarai temple should be fixed. The process should be carried out by calling for a tender, but the top temples of the district are only breaking this rule,” he said.
He further said that one of the highest incoming temple Kukke Subrahmanya also haven’t collected Rs 60-70 lakh rent from the shopkeepers. The district administration has written a letter to the government regarding this.
Commenting on construction of new outpost station at Kateel Shree Durga Parameshwari temple SP Borase said that talks are going on in the departmental level. Home guards can be deputed by the temple, if they need additional security.
