Mangalore: The NMPT at Panambur port, received the 13th cruise vessel calling at the Karnataka port on west coast, on Wednesday, March 8, with 190 travellers from Europe/USA and 173 crewmen in M.V, Seabourne Legend a large beautifully built cruise ship in 2011-12.
The vessel came from Indonesia to new Mangalore Port as the first port of call on a third voyage and sailed to Goa in the evening on way to Mumbai (on Friday).
Many of the passengers were from English speaking states of UK/USA. 134 of the visitors opted for a ground Tour of DK-Udupi sight seeing and 14 others flew to Delhi and Agra (for Holi Full Moon view of Taj Mahal), to board the cruiser later in Mumbai.
Local passenger visited Kadri Kudroli Karkala, Baikampady estate, Moodabidri and SAC chapel. J.M Boxi & Co were agent for travels.
Dr. P. Tamilvanan of NMPT received the passengers. Four more vessels are excepted to call before end of March 2012,
On April 1, the largest of them all Brilliance of Sea will come to NMPT with 3000 passenger and 1200 crew members.
