Mangalore : Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that the Niddodi power project which is against the interests of the people district is not acceptable at any cost and my stand on the decision will never change.
Speaking at the press meet held at District Congress office on May 1, Thursday, he said that the letter related to the power project was written by CM Siddharamaiah a year ago and not recently. The people of opposing parties are raising the issue in wake of election result to panic the people of the region.
He also said that the project cannot be implemented unless the amendment of Land Reforms Act takes place and even the Supreme Court cannot approve it, without the approval of 80% people of the region. The ministers in the parliament have also raised the opposition to this project.
He also condemned the offending statement on Dalit community by using the words such as ‘honeymoon’ against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi visit to the colonies.
Speaking on ANF shootout case at Sringeri, Poojary said that he regret to know that a BJP leader has supported the Kabeer shoot out case and said that all cattle thieves must be killed. Hence he urged the government to take legal action and file case against the leaders who will pass such provocative statements.
