Mysore: The new CM Devaragunda Sadananda Gowda, now in Mysore has wished all Kannadigas and people of the country a happy Dasara festivity in the form of Durga Puja, Navaratri and Ram Leela Programmes at various venues.
The CM conducted a worship to Nandi Dhwaja and directed the Jamboo Savari personel to start the Mysore Vijayadashmi procession near kote Anjayaneya temple to Banni Mantapa, in the presence of many lakhs of tourists and guests.
The jamboo Savari(7 elephants in line moving on main roads with the leading elephant Balarama carrying the 750kg. howdah, in which Sri Chamundeshwri picture is resplendently seen) was ordered by CM at 12-56PM on Dhanur Lagna, to start from Mysore Palace, which hitherto bathed in decorations and coloured lights at nights, on all the 9 days.
The scenes brought back touching memories of a Dynastic rule in Mysore that observed Dasara regularly in the past.
The Elephants walk covers Palace promises, K.R. Circle, Sayyajirao Road, and Highway circle to the Banni(a tree) Mantap for rounding up Vijay Dashmi ceremonials.
People stand on either sides to see the magnificent spectacle, thoroughly enjoyed by international tourists.
