Mangalore :  A  man from Kudroli who was a scrap merchant at the central market area has been found dead at the Tannirbavi Beach on June 21, Friday evening.

The deceased is Abdul Rashid (48). According to his family, Rashid had left home at 5.30 am on Friday after a man whom they failed to identify had arrived at their house. Rashid was missing since then.

The body has been shifted to Wenlock Hospital for post mortem. The cause of the death may be ascertained after the post-mortem.

Former mayor Ashraf too visited the spot where the body was found. Rashid is survived by his wife and three children.

Panambur police are investigating.
