Mangalore: Nabeel Ahmed was forcibly abducted from his residence in Nityanand Nagar, kotekar on the night of October12 by a vicious gang of 5 youths from Kerala, which took him round several places in Kasaragod district, making a demand for ransom, on his release.
His father was working abroad, while he, a native of Trissur, was working as and intern in the local Yenepoya Medical College. Nabeel could not contact his father in his detention, to secure release.
The gangsters feared police search and released Nabeel on October 13 at Udyavara in Manjeshwaram(Keraka).
One person was later arrested by a police team led by T.R. Jagannath, Commissioner, and a car was confiscated. The arrested youth Parviz A. Bodda(24) has given the names of 4 others in the gang. They are being hunted, in konaje police limits. Bodda is remanded to 15 days of judicial custody, by a court.
