Panambur: Dr. D. Veerencra Heggade speaking on Thursday at Sri. Visnumuthy Temple in New Mangalore (Panambur), opined that when people have stopped fearing the elected government, given up fear of law, and are not afraid of any social feelings in public, only fear of God and the spirits have succeeded in maintaining peace, goodwill and harmony in wider society.
Dr. Heggade had presided over a religious Nagamandala Seva programmed conducted on Dec 15 at the Nagabana in the compound of Sri Vishnumurthy temple here.
People believe that God metes out justice by giving good results (merits) for good work (done to others in society), and by punishing evil-doers for their bad deeds.
We live in Parasurama created land near the sea. The culture here is exceptional, with deep faith in gods and spirits. Any work done has divine blessings here, in practice, Dr. Heggade explained.
