Mangalore : Senior JD(S) leaders namely Nagaraj Shetty, State Vice President of the Party and MG Hegde, State Secretary have tendered their resignation to the primary membership of the party thereby striking a big blow to the party.
The resignation comes in the backdrop of the expulsion of party leaders DM Aslam and Shashidhar Shetty Kavoor recently for allegedly taking to task the district chief of the party MB Sadashiva at a party meeting recently and demanding his resignation. Though the expulsion order was later revoked after JD(S) Chief realized that both Shetty and Hegde were not happy with it, the party leadership failed to take action against the district chief MB Sadashiva, who many party men alleged was not helping in party organizational matters.
It is said both Shetty and Hegde have now quit over this issue. Their exit from the party at a time when the busy is busy preparing for the polls, is a big blow to the party. Both the leaders have said they have not yet decided on their next political move.
