Mangalore : B Nagaraj Shetty, former chairman of the Coastal Development Authority, has confirmed that he would be formally joining the Janata Dal (S) on September 24 along with his supporters. He has also made it clear that his intention behind joining the JD(S) was to work for the progress of the district and to engage in social service activities.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on September 21, Friday, Shetty said he was regretful of some of his moves in the recent past and admitted that the saffron party of which he was a part of until now was neck deep in internal crisis. He also chose to say that Hindutva has been misinterpreted by some people.
Shetty also added that JD(S) was the last political party in his career and promised he would not defect anymore. He also stated that he would not be demanding any post in the party.
Ranjith Malli, businessman, who is also all likely to join JD(S) along with Shetty was also present at the press meet.
