Mangalore : Nalin Kumar Kateel MP of Mangalore constituency visited the proposed Niddodi ultra mega power plant project area on Monday July 22
Speaking to the media, Nalin said that ” I am with farmers. “I will not allow the project to appear here,” he said. “I have no political intention with this fight. It is the responsibility of the elected representatives to fight against this project, I will raise the question in the Parliament on August 5.
Alphonse D’Souza President of Matrubhoomi Samrakshana Samiti said, on 16th May, nearly nine government vehicle entered Niddodi village to survey the land. Village has 2500 acres of land but thermal power plant requires 8000 acres of land as it of 4000 mega vat capacity. Along with Niddodi village project covers Yedapaduv, Nirude, Puttige, Kateel, Mucchuru, Padu Perar, Mudu Perar, Thenka Yedapadavu and some neighbouring villages” he said.
