Bangalore: Now that the portfolio allocation tussle is over, all eyes are on the post of State BJP presidentship with the sitting chief KS Eshwarappa already taking charge as the Deputy Chief Minister.

If latest reports are to be believed, two strong contenders for the post are Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi. If Kateel is backed by BJP leaders of DK, Prahlad Joshi is learnt to be having the backing of BJP National General Secretary Ananthkumar.

Meanwhile, the supporters of former CM DV Sadananda Gowda have been demanding that Gowda be made the State BJP Chief.

The BJP high command is expected to take a final decision within a week.
