Bangalore : The names of former CM DV Sadananda Gowda and Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel are doing the rounds for the post of State BJP Presidentship following the exit of KS Eshwarappa.
According to sources, one among the two may be chosen for the top post in another three to four days. Sources also revealed that the possibilities of electing Gowda was high considering the fact that he has a clean image. It is said that Sadananda Gowda’s selection for the post may face no hurdles unless Ananthkumar exerts his influence on the high command.
Though Ananth Kumar had proposed the name of Minor irrigation minister Govinda Karajola who belongs to SC community, the Sangh Parivar has not approved the same. As far A Deputy CM Ashok is concerned, except for Ananthkumar and a few other leaders no one has shown much favour.
Nalin’s name has been recommended by Santosh the party organizing secretary.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has requested the party high command to appoint a very understanding and co-operative leader to the post.
