Mangalore: Remember the Air India Boing crash of May 2010 in which 158 persons lost their lives while 8 more survived miraculously: An year-long battle is going an for a final settlement of dues to the families of the dead in kerala, Karnataka and perhaps in Maharashtra, who did not opt for what pittance they could obtain form the ministers of Civil/Aviation (Patel and Vayalar Ravi) who promised heavens to them.
Now, Air India lawyer Nanavathi who has met those few disgruntled relatives of some bereaved families, who still expect s. 75 lakhs as ordered by Kerala court but never paid, has told the association leaders that they must withdraw the court case heaped on AI through a Swedish lawyer, Stephen Ericson, before getting their compensation immediately.
Some families, tire3d of making appeals and hoisting cases, have plumped for Nanavathi’s mediatory plan of instant relief.
President of Mangalore Aircrash Victims’ Families Association, Mohd. Beary stated that families could approach courts for more, even after what AI have them was accepted. The families have suffered by prolonged arguments.
Beary felt they would accept whatever AI would provide them now. The tickle and tacle may come later on.
The association has moved the Supreme court for a clear verdict in the case, on final compensation matters.
