Mangalore: Mango Lassi, the latest product of DK District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd was launched on November 17, Saturday as part of National Co-operative Week. The 200 ml Mango Lassi sachet will cost Rs 12. Mangalore Mayor Gulzar Banu launched the product.

According to Raviraj Hegde, President of the Milk Union, original mango pulp is used to manufacture this Mango Lassi with the brand name Nandini. He said this product is launched for the first time in the state.

He said the Union will also have a walk-in deep freezer which will enable to store 10000 litres of ice cream, butter and milk at its dairy at Kulshekhar.

A 10,000 liter capacity pasteurization unit and 60,000 litre capacity milk silos will also be inaugurated.

The Union will also receive 1SO 22000:2005 certification.
