Mangalore: The cornerstone was laid for the Bharathi College extension building by Swamy Raghaveshwar, at Nanthoor on Monday, amid Vedic rites. The Corporation Bank Dy GM, M.Narayana Bhat took part.

Speaking on the occasion MN Bhat said people had come forward to do good things, and be models to others. The five-storeyed building, he added, should be ready as early as possible.

N. Yogish Bhat told the gathering that he was helping as an MLA to raise the college, to new heights in learning, by preaching Indian studies, based on Vedic knowledge.

Y.V. Bhat (CEO) made introductory remarks. The college had primary to graduate level educational facilities, in Kannada and English. Administrator K.S. Bhat presided. MP Nalinkumar participated. Several learned persons were present. G.K. Bhat welcomed.
