Mangaluru: Naresh Shenoy, the prime accused in RTI activist Vinayaka Baliga’s murder case was produced before the 3rd JMFC court on Monday.
Before arriving at the court, Shenoy was subjected to a medical test. The court later remanded him to police custody till June 30.
He was arrested on Sunday by the City Crime Branch officials near Hejamady, Udupi.
The officer said that Shenoy had been to several places including Lucknow and Jammu and Kashmir, before he was arrested. Shenoy has also been accused of destroying evidence and conspiring murder.
Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar has asked the public to provide any information regarding Baliga’s murder and had assured that the identity of such individuals would be kept confidential.
Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar said that it was too early to ascertain as investigations were still on.
Vinayaka Baliga was an RTI activist who was hacked to death near his house in the city on March 21, 2016.
