Mangalore : St Aloysius College organized an ‘Integral Yoga Satsang’, national Conference on Yoga at Eric Mathias Hall of St Aloysius College on Jan 19, Saturday.
Speaking after inaugurating the conference, N Vinaya Hegde, president of Nitte Education Trust, said that the process of Yoga must pass on from generation to generation.
Today this process is not only limited to India, but also extended to other parts of the world. He congratulated the organizers for continuing the culture go on.
Chief Guest Seemanth Kumar, commissioner of police said that it is a matter of pride that College and City has chosen such a satsang.
He also said that, Suryanamskara is the entire exercise for the human body. If the exercise is done step by step, it will give great difference to one’s mental and physical health. Yoga is the oldest and cheapest exercise one can do to himself, he added.
Rev Fr Swebert D’Silva, SJ, Principal Correspondent, St Aloysius College, said that the person is considered dead, when his or her body stops improving. Yoga enlightens ourselves and helps to become a better person. The students must excel in every thing they do.
Dr K Krishna Bhat, delivered the key note address on the occasion.
Dr Ganapathi Joia presented the paper on ‘The exposition of the word Yoga’, Dr Vanitha S Shetty on ‘Role of Yoga in Women Health’, Dr Prashanth Shetty on ‘Yogic Management of respiratory disorders in the morning session.
