Mangalore: A National Conference on Public Private Partnership with Special Reference to Infrastructure Development, Industrialization and Tourism’ was held at SDM College, Mangalore, on January 28, Monday.
Delivering the key-note address, Dr H.A.C. Prasad, Senior Economic Advisor, Department of Economic Affairs, New Delhi, said China had developed its major tourist spots under Public Private Partnership model and urged for similar steps in Mangalore and Dakshina Kannada district. He said there was enough scope for development of the tourist spots in the district. He said even the Central government was drafting a PPP policy which however may invite a lot of criticism. He said the GDP of the nation can also increase when PPP was successfully implemented.
