Mangalore: National Law Day was observed in Mangalore on November 26, Monday under the auspices of the Mangalore Bar Association and District Legal Service Authority.

Inaugurating the function, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor TC Shivashankeramurthy said the Day was being observed to help lawyers rededicate themselves to the profession. He also said  corruption  in legal system would destroy the  society.

He also pointed out that in India people opt to take to legal recourse as a last option.

Ashok G Nijagannavar, Principal District and Sessions Judge, presided over the function.

Rajashekhar M Shettar, Principal District and Sessions Judge of Shimoga, was honoured at the function.

Ashok Adiga, President of Bar Association, Subrahamanya JN, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority and others were present on the occasion.
