Mangalore : The National Youth Day and District level folk art fest jointly organized by Nehru Youth Centre, Mangalore, Rashtriya Seva Yojana, Mangalore University and Sri Mahalingeshwara Daya Friends Circle, Adyar, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada was held at Town Hall on Jan 12, Wednesday.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the programme and stated that the youth of the country had a great role to play in the full development as directed by Swami Vivekananda a century ago expecting the independence and responsibilities they had to bear in future.
Kannada activist Pradeep Kumar Kalkura presided over the programme. Purushottama Bhandary, owner of Tyre Care, Adyar and Rotarian Anand Shetty, owner of Anand Traders, Aydar participated as the chief guest on the occasion.
Sudhakr Adyar, president of Sri Mahalingeshwara Daya Friends Circle, Adyar, welcomed the guests and gathering.
Dr Gananath Ekkaru, organizer, NSS, Mangalore University, delivered the introductory speech on the occasion. Vishnumurthy, Nehru Youth Centre, Mangalore proposed vote of thanks.
