Mangaluru: The completion of the project of four laning of NH 66 and the fly over work at Pumpwell and Thokkottu has admitted that the Navayug company is facing financial hurdles which has led to the delay in the work.
The company persons participated in a meeting at the DC office and answered the question by State Minister U T Khader, on the delay in the works giving unnecessary trouble to the general public and said that the company was in financial trouble and that efforts to avail bank loan was underway. The works would commence as soon as loan is sanctioned, the officials promised.
Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, asked the officials to make it clear if the company are unable to complete the work. He also blamed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for the delay and pointed out that such problems crop up when the Authority fails to have control over the contract agency. In the event of any accident due to the highway problem, action will be taken against those concerned, he warned.
