Mangalore : The members of the DK District unit of the Joint Action Committee of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas who are on an indefinite strike since February 6 demanding CCS Pension and 10 per cent special allowance to non-teaching, staff took out a rally from the Town Hall to the Deputy Commissioner’s office on February 14, Thursday in order to pressurize the authorities concerned to consider their demands and fulfill the same.
Association members Uday Nayak, Gangaraju, DK Naik and Parent teacher Council representatives Suresh Shetty and Gopala U spoke at a protest meet held in front of the DC office.
The Staff of all the 595 Navodaya Vidyalayas from across the country are on an indefinite strike demanding the Union government to implement GOI pension scheme to its employees. The Association also pointed out that the staff of the Navodaya residential schools are working round the clock to impart quality education to students hailing from rural areas.
