Mangalore: National Commission for Women (NCW) member Shamina Shafiq speaking to the media at Circuit House on Aug 17, Friday said that alleged that the State Commission for Women (SCW) chairperson C Manjula has given a report on Morning Mist home stay without hearing the victims versions.
Shamina also said that the report submitted by the State Commission for Women chairperson was wrong and has defamed the reputation of the victims. The state government has even failed to submit an action taken report to the NCW even after 15 days of the incident.
She said that Manjula has given her own thoughts in the report, without talking to the victims. She also said that she has spoken to two victims in the circuit house yesterday and others in their house. She has also spoken to the Police department including Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and the owner of Morning Mist Home Stay.
She said that, during the process of enquiry, she has also come to know that there were illegal activities taking place in the Home stay from before. Within 10 days, she will submit the report to the National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Mamta Sharma and the action will be taken against the culprits, she said.
