Mangaluru: In an emergency situation at Pandeshwara Mall several people were trapped in the collapsed building, the alert fire personnel and NDRF staff rescued them in a swift operation on April 8th, Monday.
To track people trapped in the collapsed building sniffer dogs were used. Later, the rescue team managed to get them out.
This is an mock drill for the fire personnel and NDRF to show their rescue skills in a building collapse situation.
The team also showed how people could be rescued during a flood. Tips were given on how to disconnect power connection in such situations and how to raze the building wall.
Chief Fire Officer T N Shivashankar, Subheesh K S of NDRF, District Health Officer Dr. Ramakrishna Rao, Home Guard Deputy Commandant Ramesh, Disaster Management officer Vijay Kumar among others were present.
