Mangalore : Additional Director General of Police (Crime and Technical Serices) Ashit Mohan Prasad inaugurated a UGC sponsored national level conference on Psychology For Enhancing Happiness, Harmony and Peace here at St Agnes Conference hall on March 14. The programme was organised by the Department of Psychology in association with Internal Yoga Satsanga.
In his inaugural address, Prasad said the present system is facing a challenge in explaining about the rights and wrongs to the students. It is only when good values are inculcated that welfare of the maximum can be achieved. We need to concentrate on producing men of character, he added. Lamenting the fact that juvenile delinquency rate is on the rise, he said there is a need for parents to be more aware.
Dr BM Hegde, former vice chancellor of Manipal University, delivered the key-note address. Principal Dr Sr Prem D’Souza presided over the programme. Dr HS Ashok, Dr Jacintha D’Souza, Shailaja Shastri, Fr Clifford Fernandes and others will be the resource persons.
Various sessions on relevant topics will be held during the two-day conference.
