Mangaluru : World Tourism Day was inaugurated at the Hotel Ocean Pearl here on September 27, Monday by DK District in-charge Minister and Fisheries Minister S Angara.
The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration and the Department of Tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister stressed the need for tourism promotion activities in the district by highlighting the places of tourist importance of the region.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said tourism sector can prosper when there is public-private partnership.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra KV, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnaker Hegde, MUDA Chairman Ravishanker Mijar and others were present.
