Farmers were the worst affected due to the untimely heavy rains. Several houses too have been damaged. Several trees were also uprooted at several places in the district due to strong winds.
The sudden change in weather has also affected the health of the coastal people with many queuing up before doctors’ clinics for treatment of viral fever and other vector borne diseases.
If Bantwal received 15 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours, Puttur received 23 mm, Sullia 34 mm and Mangalore 35.5 mm rainfall.
