Mangalore : In today’s world friendship among human beings is not long lasting. But, animal kingdom has showed their unusual friendships till death.

It is a friendship story of between an ox and a stray dog at Attavar, which won the hearts of many people.

According to local observers, a dog named ‘Shambu’ and the ox were often found strolling together from a long time. Both were very close to each other.

It is said that, Shambu used to watch Ox when it slept and go off to sleep after ox woke up.

But unfortunately, their friendship came to a tragic end, when ox died in Jain Compound on August 24. Knowing about Ox’s death, heartbroken Shambu didn’t allow anyone to come near. It stood away only when, a large number of people started gathering near the ox.

Later the locals buried the ox in a pit. But just after the gathered people dispersed, Shambu came and sat near the spot and continue to mourn in the same spot for days without consuming food or water.
