New Delhi: A new bill, incorporating changes made by recommendations of a Cabinet standing Committee, that will reform Hindu Marriages(1995) Act and special Marriages(1954) registration Act, has now secured cabinet approval, on Sunday night.
According to new modifications in the Acts, mutual differences of opinion can lead to an agreed divorce between ma and his wife, facilitating their legal separation from wedlock, paving a way to end mutual misery.
The re-drafted Marriage(amendments ) bill of 2010 enables special courts to take quick decisions, in broken marriage cases ending in divorce.
The bill was re-drafted, Keeping in view the prominent suggestions made by the Cabinet standing Committee.
The bill was actually put up in Rajya Sabha 2 years ago. Then, under the leadership of MS. Jayanthi Natarajan, MP, the parliamentary standing Committee for Personnel Law and Justice, took over the charge.
The reformed bill facilitates divorces in many hopeless cases to avoid suicides and run-away cases.
The bill has made it clear that wife has a right to husband’s property. The rules say that adopted Kids have as much right in property of their wards, as natural children have.
