Bangalore: Senior BJP leader and former Dy. PM., Lal Krishna Advani will open the new state BJP office known as Jagannath Bhawan in Malleshwaram, north of city, on April 28, tomorrow, at 10am-1pm (Thursday). BJP rules in South India only, from Karnataka, with Bangalore as capital.
It has 10,000 sq.ft area, with a basement a 4 upper floors, built at cost of Rs.4 crores, party sources said. The office building has been constructed in 18 months. Till now, BJP had only rented houses in Malleshwaram for office work, with Canara Union hall as its meeting place on several occasions (on 8th main Road).
The present new building is on modern lines with all facilities for work, rest and discussions. There is Wi-Fi arrangement for internet services allover the building. A video conference facility provides contacts to all district BJP centres and national BJP centres too.
All top leaders of BJP are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony. The basement is meant for car parking.
Mangalore has a similar modern office at Kodialbail, named ‘Jagannath Rao Joshi Sadan’.
