Udupi: “Providing quality service for the safe journey of the public is the motto of KSRTC. Within a year a high tech bus stand will be constructed for JNNURM and KSRTC buses,” said State transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.

He was speaking after inaugurating new JNNURM bus unit constructed at Nitturr at the cost of Rs 6.08 crore.

“After knowing the requirement of the bus to the remote areas of the district buses will be allotted. KSRTC is providing service at the discount rate to students, senior citizens and daily passengers through the passes. Quality of the buses which are functioning at present is also good,” he said.

He further said that new KSRTC high-tech bus stand will be constructed at Bannanje’s PWD land. For the construction of City Transport Corporation 48 cents of land has been purchased near old DDPI office, it will be constructed within a year.

District in-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj urged the minister to construct underpass between private bus stand and KSRTC bus stand in the city.

Udupi CDA President narasimhamoorthy, tp President Nalini Pradeep Rao, former MLA Baavraj, ZP Member janardhan Tonse and others were present.
