Mangalore: State’s new Urban Development Minister VinayKumar Sorake was warmly received by several of his supporters, party workers and admirers at the Mangalore Airport on his maiden visit to Mangalore after assuming office as minister.
Addressing press persons on the occasion, Vinaykumar Sorake said the government would soon take steps to issue title deeds to the poor who have been residing in government lands for more than ten years.
He said he has in mind a comprehensive plan for the overall development of Mangalore, a fast growing city and added the same would be discussed at a meeting of departmental officials to be held on May 22.
He also stated that all possible efforts would be made to restore the image of Mangalore which has been sagged due to moral policing. The police department too would be issued stern instructions, he added.
Several Congress leaders including Ibrahim Kodijal, Interim President of District Congress, Ivan D’Souza were present.
