Mangalore: The new office bearers of Mangalore Rotary Metro Club were installed at a function held at Ocean Pearl in Mangalore on June 28, Thursday.
Mohan Kamath, entrepreneur and past Lions Governor, who was the chief guest, said Rotarians all over the world are serving the society in the true spirit of the motto of the organization “Peace through Service.”
Sadashiv Shetty, District Assistant Governor of Rotary, administered the oath to the new office bearers. The outgoing President Suresh Kamath handed over the charge to the new President Ramakrishna Kamath.
Speaking on the occasion, the new President Ramakrishna Kamath assured to strive his level best to implement the welfare schemes of the Rotary during his tenure.
As part the community service initiative of the Club two wheel chairs were handed over to the Mangalore Railway Station in order to aid physically challenged passengers. Students of Srinivas Pata Shala also received free uniforms on the occasion.
Krishna Shenoy, outgoing secretary, presented the annual report on the activities of the club. Dr. Ranjan, the new Secretary of the Club, proposed a vote of thanks.
