Kasaragod: Newspaper and TV employees demonstrated on Friday in Kasaragod streets against police atrocities. About 25 local policemen surrounded some news reporters and photographers, who took pictures of police children being taken unofficial vans from a private school in Uliattadka to their homes, and soundly thrashed them on Friday on way.

Journalist Mr. Ghousian Mustapha, cameraman Subit, and car driver Salam were injured in the mela at A.R. Camp near a hotel.

Those who tried to escape were followed and beaten up again. Ghousia said one of them had ever kicked her on the belly.

On hearing news, SP T.Srikantal rushed to the spot and took the 3 injured persons to the police station. There some other policemen censured them in unprintable words, said Ghousia who entered a hospital later.
