Mangaluru: The Mangaluru project office of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday said its machinery and materials were used for filling up potholes and widening the busy service road off the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway passing through B.C. Road recently.
Responding to a report on police initiative on filling up potholes and widening the service road to ensure smooth traffic, NHAI Mangaluru project director Samson Vijaykumar said the authority has authorised one agency to build a bus bay and widen the service road, and another to fill potholes.
Mr. Vijaykumar said the first agency has relocated electric poles and a transformer that was hindering traffic movement. The other has procured the necessary material and is waiting to commence filling potholes after monsoon season.
