Mangalore : The archbishop of Bangalore, Dr.Bernard Moras will lead a group of nine bishops, including the bishop of Mangalore diocese, Dr.Aloysius Paul D’Souza, on an official “Ad Limina” visit to Rome, to meet the Pope and give an account of happenings in their regions of spiritual service.
Dr.Moras is the president of Karnataka Catholic Bishops Council. Ad Limina refers to an obligatory visit to Rome, by the ordained members of the Catholic Church to see the Pope. This time, it is between Sept 1 and 10 that they go to meet Pope Benedict XVI, to get his advice as successor of St.Peter in Rome.
Bishop of Chikkamagalur, Mysore, Bellary, Karwar, Mangalore, Belgaum, Shimoga and Gulbarga, besides Bengaluru Archbishop, are in the team of 9 bishops going to Rome this week, to offer their respects to Pope in Rome.
