Mangalore: The Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested an aide of a notorious Don, Bannanje Raja, from Sakalpur in Varanasi district, with up “Special task force” police helping them. The criminal was brought to Mangalore on Sunday (Nov 27). He is identified as Nitesh/Anshu Singh (20).

He is accused of involving in a shoot-out that occurred near Kadri Park in city recently, that involved city based builder, Suresh Bhandary and his family members on May 26, when Vehicle0borne rowdies had fired at the car of Bhandary.

The miscreants disappeared soon after. Nine other persons were taken into judicial custody by Kadri Police in this shoot-out case, but Nitesh was absconding.

The gang revealed his where abouts and some details of earlier such ransom-demand cases in Mangalore.

Nitesh Singh faces extensive police interrogation on the 10-man gang’s plans and intended activities on the coastal region.
