Bangalore: A tearful, emotional, desperate plea was made by ex-CM B S Yeddyurappa to Nitin Gadkari, national BJP leader on his (NG) arrival in Bangalore on late February 23 night in spite of a show of strength in a dinner meeting of MLAs called on Thursday by BSY, where he held hands with J.Shettar, K.S. Eshwarappa and himself (but not CM DVS Gowda, ho not attend).
Yeddy had collected 62 MLAs at his Racecourse Road home Yesterday (February 23), but when Gadkari reached the I.T. city on a changed programme on February 23 night to inaugurated the ‘Chintan-Manthan’ (brain-storming) session in hotel on Hosur road on February 24 morning he was in tears.
Actually, Gadkari arrived neither on Thursday noon nor on Friday noon, as was expected, but late at night on Thursday, when no one was looking (from opposition).
Yeddy threatened Gadkari that he would go his own way, whatever that meant.
He had his hard-core MLAs, Shobha K., Renukacharya and son MP Raghavendra with him. He had not passed any revolting resolution at the dinner meeting, he told Gadkari, in wet eyes.
He spoke against CM DVS Gowda for breaking a promise earlier made, of ruling for 6 months only (like S.R. K this under S. Nijalingappa).
Yeddy told Gadkari that he had built a party from scratch, and was begging for post now that he had all along deserved. His own followers had cheated him, he cried.
Shobha and Renukacharya turned emotional at this sight. Gadkari had promised to reinstate BSY in six months, and that time had arrived, he pleased.
J. Shettar was listening to this fervent demand, to bring DVS down, and hold yeddy high.
However RSS loyalists among MLAs in city were hot convinced about Yeddy’s concern to return as CM. Eshwarappa and for a brief period, CM DVS Gowda, was also there trying their best to make it a normal get to gather on Thursday.
DVS is planning to make Counter allegations against yeddy, while not running the Govt. on H.D. Deve Gowda’s advise as alleged by ex-CM.
Nitin is yet to make up his mind, after meeting Yeddyurappa who wants to jump off the BJP precipice In desperation.
