Karkala : A engineering student of Nitte college drowned at Arbi Falls in Nitte village on Monday August 2.

The victim was Varshita (19), daughter of Amaresh B and Sandhya, residents of Jeppu Market Mangaluru.

The student, who had completed her first year of engineering degree course, was staying at Nitte had been  visited the falls along with some of her friends. The girl student knew how to swim but because of the acute force of water, she was dragged away, it is learnt.

Fireman Later brought her body from water.

A case was registered in Karkala rural police station in this connection.
