Mangalore: The NMPT has published its figures in 2010-11 of handling materials like Iron Ore pellets, coal, crude oil, MRPL products, other petroleum products, Lime stone, Timber, finer ores, Granite stones and container goods, handled to the tune of 31.55 millions with a shortfall of about 4 million tonnes over last year.
The iron ore fines had declined this year due to ban on exports of ore, recently lifted. Other materials were handled more in weight.  Container movements had increased considerably by 27.66 over 2009-10.
NMPT has secured ISO certification of 14001:2004 this year, a press release said on Tuesday.
