Mangalore : L. K. Advani, the senior BJP leader and former deputy prime minister, landed at Mangalore Airport today by special flight and moved towards Nehru Maidan to address the gathering.
Advani visited Mangalore as part of his anti-graft Jan Chethana Rath Yatra. CM Sadananda Gowda, State BJP President Eshwarappa, BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and others, as well as MP Ananth Kumar welcomed him at the airport.
Speaking ath the stage programme at Nehru Maidan L K. Advani, said that he has started his yatra with the aim to cover 23 states and covered 13 states and Karnataka is the 14th state of his yatra and this is the state which gave most happiest moment in the journey of yatra.
Recalling his stay in Bangalore Central Jail for 19 months, he said that he came to Bangalore for the Lok Sabha meeting was in jail during the emergency occurred in the state. If he would stay some more months, then even he would talk in Kannada like other ministers.
He said that he would not like to compromise with the corruption present in the government. Although my friends said to drop the yatra in Karnataka, he wished to visit Karnataka, since he also wants to think about removing corruption from the state government and not only the central government.
I just wanted to see how much credibility is there in the state, because credibility is the biggest virtue in public life. I did not want to omit Karnataka from my yatra and wanted to tell people that how our government must be judged and not spared, he said.
Jan Chetana Yatra is the 6th yatra I have under taken and my yatra’s are carried forward after having the study on a particular subject.
He said that BJP is not an ordinary party, but it is extra-ordinary party unlike congress.
I can list out the scams taken place from Nehru’s Government to Manmohan Singh’s Government and sure that the scams took place in Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh’s tenure has been never seen before.

Speaking about the black money, he said that Rs 25 lakh crore country’s money has been invested in the Swiss Bank and no other country has invested like this. If the black money from the Swiis Bank is brought back, then there will be no such village’s will lack drinking water , power cut, schools, dispensaries, good roads and other problem. All the six lakh villages of the country will be developed and a new India will be established, he added.
He also asked the gathered audience to repeat the slogans like ‘Brastachar Mitayenge, Kaala Dhan Vapas Layenge, Naya Bharath Banayenge’.
Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda said that Advani has taken up yatra to give good governance. The corruption and bad governance has spread like cancer in every field including politics, judiciary and media.
He said that the branch of corruption has entered till the root; hence it is necessary to remove it through creating awareness and transparency in the governance.
He also said that, he has instructed the administration in Chief minister’s office to install a web cam in his 4 work place from November 1, so to give transparency in his governance. People from all over Karnataka can see the working of the projects by the chief minister and the other ministers.
He also said that common people having any kind of complaints on government authorities can directly contact the authorities at CM’S office and they will get an immediate reply from the office authorities, he said.
Further to avoid the problem of denotification, he said that the committee has been formed by the chief secretary to get the work done with the permission of government.
KS Eshwarappa said that the congress activists were showing black flags during Advani’s visit, it also means that they are symbolically warning congress ministers to stop corruption and give good governance in the country.
