Mangaluru: The individuals and organizations not permitted to collect donation for helping the relief operations in flood-affected Chennai. A press release from office of the Deputy Commissioner has given out notification to the public on Saturday.

The release stated that it had come to the notice of the administration that few individuals and organizations had come forward to collect donations.

However, the release made it clear that the district administration had not been collecting donations either in cash or kind as the Tamil Nadu government announced that it did not require donations from other states. The pubic are requested not to make any donations; however, if any illegal donations are being collected, people could call the toll-free number 1077, the release said.

If people from Karnataka have been missing in Chennai, details could be given to the Karnataka State Natural Disasters Monitoring Centre, Bengaluru by dialing the toll-free number 1070; calls could be made to 080-2234067.
