Bangalore : Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde today said the state government cannot seek clarification on his final report on illegal ironore mining submitted last year.

Talking to reporters who met him at his residence here, he said ”under law, there is no provision to send back the report seeking clarification.

”The state government should either reject or accept the report.

”Though it was aware of the provision, the government has deliberately sought clarifications on certain matters without any reason.

”The only provision available as per law is to approach the High Court stating that the report is not clear in its recommendation,” he added.
