Mangalore : State Minister for Higher Education and DK District in-charge Minister CT Ravi has said that the BJP government in the state was strongly against the setting up of a minorities university in the state in the name of Tipu Sultan
Speaking to media men at Circuit House on February3, Sunday, CT Ravi said the BJP would not change its stance on the issue even if it was in power or not. He said the government can grant land for any central or national university in the state but not for a minorities university. He also said it was acceptable for the BJP if the centre sets up any national university and names it after great Muslim leaders like Bismilla Khan or APJ Abdul Kalam.
On the recent Padayatra by Congress, Ravi said the Congress had miserably failed to win public support for the padayatra and also took the Congress leaders to task for warning to send RSS leader Kalladka Bhat behind bars if the Congress was voted to power.
