Udupi: In a clarification to the statements made by Lingayat leaders, Pejavar Shree Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji said he doesn’t has any fear if Lingayat community demands for a separate independent religion or moves out of Hindu community leaving its current status as a branch of Hindu community.

Shree in a statement on Saturday here in Udupi said he wants Lingayats as the members of Hindu community and he has no any fear if they opt for a separate independent religion.

Speaking in a press conference on Friday in Bengaluru, former IAS officer, Lingayat leader SM Jamdar questioned why Pejavar seer fears if Lingayats opt for a separate religion. He was also expressed his dissatisfaction against Seer’s previous stand stating Lingayatism is a branch of Hindu religion and it can’t be separated from Hinduism as planned.
